Insider Tips: Networking In Your Community
INSIDER TIPS • June 2019
Some of the most important things in life are the connections we make with others.
Your business’s product or service isn’t going to get off the ground if people aren’t talking about it, and people aren’t going to talk about it unless YOU ARE TALKING TO PEOPLE.
This is why we feel that networking with your local community of business owners and professionals is so important. Plus, you never know when you’re going to come face to face with your next calling or opportunity! Human connection is essential; it's how we grow and help others grow. Here is a little list we have compiled of things to remember when you’re out there doing your thing.
Network with a “giving” mindset. A big part of successful networking is the gift of attention. Being sincere and giving people an opportunity to be heard goes a long way in establishing new connections.
Remember to have fun and take the pressure off yourself! You are simply opening the door to new potential relationships. If someone seems interesting, or interested in you, get their business card and follow up with a coffee meeting or casual lunch.
Make eye contact and be sure to smile. Making a personal connection through body language will help present your authentic self to them.
When you create conversations based on shared interests and goals, you’ll be more successful. People want to work with people with whom they connect so find that common ground! Prioritize relationship building as you grow your business. You don’t do business with a company, you do business with people you like and trust.
And listen ladies, to keep connections alive, they must be nurtured! Follow up, keep your promises, and you’ll be sure to succeed.
